What is the difference in red mite control between a hobby hen and a professionally farmed hen?
In the professional poultry farm there are more animals in a cage. Proportionally there are more animals per m2 of cage surface and less environment. The environment consists of systems that are usually made of steel and other smooth materials. This is very different from the situation with hens that are kept as a hobby. Proportionally there are fewer animals per m2 of cage surface and often the henhouses and their fittings are made of wood and other materials with many cracks and seams in which the mites can hide. Controlling red mites in hens that are kept as a hobby is therefore much more difficult than in the professional poultry farm. The composition of the products Finecto+ and Finecto Pro takes this into account.Back to overview
