With the Finecto+ RED MITE TEST, you can easily and quickly check for the presence of blood lice in your chicken or bird coop. Early detection is crucial to prevent issues and ensure the health of your animals.
How does the Finecto+ BLOOD LICE TEST work?
Blood lice emerge from their hiding places at night and climb up the legs of a chicken or bird to suck blood. Once they have had enough blood, they return along the same path on the legs and search for the nearest hiding place to lay eggs. Lice prefer small, dark spaces where they are safe from being eaten by chickens.
When you attach the Finecto+ BLOOD LICE TEST tube directly under the perch, it becomes the first suitable hiding place they encounter to build a nest. And because it is so close to the chickens, they will quickly return there next time. The test tube contains a wooden stick that can be easily removed. Check it weekly (or daily during the blood lice season) for the presence of blood lice on the stick. If blood lice are present on the stick, start treatment as soon as possible. Blood lice can lay up to 8 eggs per day. The fewer lice there are, the quicker you will get rid of them.
Instructions for Use:
- Attach the test tube with the provided material under the perch.
- Count the number of blood lice on the stick in the tube weekly (or daily during the blood lice season).
- Determine the method for treating blood lice.
- Clean the stick under running water and place it back into the tube.
