How Do Mite Traps Work?

• Oil attracts mites: The traps are equipped with a special oil (e.g., Finecto+ MITE BLOCKER OIL) that attracts the mites.
• Only path to the chicken: The traps are strategically placed at the ends of the roost, making this the only path (through the oil) for the mites to reach the chicken.
• Mites are trapped: The mites get caught in the oil, where they are trapped and suffocate. Mites breathe through their back, and these pores become clogged by the oil.
• Special design: The Finecto+ MITE BLOCKER mite traps are specially designed! They are removable, making cleaning a breeze!
• Population reduction: By trapping the mites in this way, their population is effectively reduced without further spreading to the chickens.
• Monitoring and Emptying: The traps should be regularly checked and emptied to remove the trapped mites. This ensures that the traps maintain their effectiveness and provide continuous protection.
